Makapuʻu prints
Prints of Makapuʻu on Oʻahu's eastern tip, including the lighthouse at sunrise, the beach from straight above, and a two minute exposure from the ridge.
Makapuʻu is the eastern tip of Oʻahu, where the Kaiwi coast turns the corner toward Waimānalo. The lighthouse sits on the cliffs above the point, and below them Makapuʻu Beach is known for its shorebreak and its bodysurfers.
Kawika has photographed it from just about every angle. Timespan comes from the ridge above the beach, a single two minute exposure at sunrise that smoothed out the ocean and stretched the clouds. Candlestick looks down on the lighthouse from a drone as the first light split the cliffs into light and dark. And the two Makapuʻu Beach prints look straight down at the white sand and teal water, one wide and one tall.
