Client and employee gifts that perpetuate the beauty of Hawaiʻi
A print of a real Oʻahu place is a client or employee gift they'll keep. Prints start at $55. Here's how to pick a size, what you can deduct, and how it ships.

The best client gift is one they still see a year later. A print of a real Oʻahu place does that, and it keeps the beauty of Hawaiʻi in front of them every day. Give a $55 matted print to everyone on your list, or a canvas or metal print to the few people who matter most. It could be a partner who's retiring, or a loyal client or a new home buyer. It ships straight to them, made here on Oʻahu, with no price in the box.
A print can be the perfect unique gift
Gifting a print is a thank-you that lasts. A box of macadamia nuts is gone by Friday. A photograph of Diamond Head at sunrise is still on their wall when you call next year, and it reminds them who sent it every time they walk past.
Realtors on Oʻahu give Kawika's prints at closing for exactly that reason. They pick a place near the new home, so the buyers' first piece of art is their own neighborhood.
It's personal, it's from here, and it's nothing like what comes in a gift basket. One print in their office even thanks a whole team at once.
How much does a print gift cost?
You can give a print for $55, or spend more on the few people who matter most.
| Price | What you get |
|---|---|
| $55 | A matted print, 8 x 10 or 8 x 12, that fits any standard 11 x 14 frame. Give one to everyone on your list. |
| $210 to $450 | A canvas or metal print, ready to hang. Save these for your top clients and partners. |
| $450 and up | A large print or a panorama, made for a client's office or lobby. |
Shipping is added at checkout, based on the size and where it's going. A matted print costs $11 to ship in Hawaiʻi and $13 to the mainland.
A $55 matted print fits a typical gift budget. A 2017 survey by ASI, a trade group for promotional products, found businesses spent an average of $46 per client gift and $79 per employee holiday gift.
What size should a gift print be?
Size is the question gift buyers ask Kawika most, and you don't need to know their wall to get it right. A matted print fits any standard 11 x 14 frame, so it works on a desk, a shelf or a wall. For canvas or metal, the middle size fits most walls.
For a client's office, these sizes look right:
- Beside a desk or in a hallway: 24 x 16, or a 30 x 10 panorama.
- A reception wall or behind a front desk: 30 x 20, or a 48 x 16 panorama.
- A conference room: 36 x 24, or the 48 x 16 panorama for a long wall.
You can see any print to scale on a wall, at each size, before you choose. Metal is a good pick for an office because it resists scratches and wipes clean.
Which prints make good client gifts?
The best gift prints are places your clients already know. Diamond Head and Waikīkī are the view people picture when they think of Oʻahu. Lēʻahi Kahiko shows the crater from the air at first light, and Kaimana is a wide panorama of Diamond Head at sunrise.
For an office with a lot going on, a quiet print settles the room. Mokulua Monochrome is the two islands off Kailua in black and white, so it goes with any color scheme. Mālie is silky water spilling over a reef at Papailoa Beach on the North Shore, and it's one of Kawika's favorites. For a client in Hawaiʻi Kai, Timespan follows the Makapuʻu coastline out to the lighthouse at sunrise.

Kawika's prints already hang where people work and gather. Aloha Crepes, Lion Coffee, Olena Cafe and the Kualoa Ranch gift shop have all carried them. Browse by place on the Diamond Head and Waikīkī, Kailua and Waimānalo and North Shore pages.
Are client gifts tax deductible?
Yes, up to $25 per person per year. That's the IRS limit for business gifts to clients, in IRS Publication 463 (2025).
A few details work in your favor. Shipping and packaging don't count toward the $25, as long as they don't add substantial value of their own. A print given to a company for its office may not count as a gift to one person at all, under a federal tax regulation (26 CFR 1.274-3). This isn't tax advice, so your tax preparer is the one to say how it applies to you.
Can a print be an employee service award?
A print makes a service award they'll see every day. The IRS lets you give an employee an item for years of service or for safety and leave it out of their pay, up to $400 a year, or $1,600 under a qualified written award plan (IRS Publication 15-B, 2026). Cash and gift cards don't qualify. A print does.
The matted print and every small canvas or metal size come in under $400. The rule asks for a meaningful presentation, so hand it over in person, at a staff lunch or a team meeting. A service award qualifies after someone's first five years, and not if they got one in the same year or the four years before.
How does a print gift get to them?
It goes straight to their door, with no price in the box. Put their address in at checkout. Each print is made to order here on Oʻahu, usually in about a week, and arrives 7 to 14 business days after you order in Hawaiʻi, or 10 to 21 on the mainland.
To hand it over yourself, pick it up free on Oʻahu, usually 7 to 10 business days after you order. That's how a closing gift makes it to the closing table.
For Christmas, order by November 20 for the mainland, December 4 for Hawaiʻi, or December 10 for pickup on Oʻahu.
Questions people ask
Will they see what I paid? No. Nothing in the box shows a price.
Can I send prints to several clients at once? Yes. If they're all going to one address, or you're picking them up on Oʻahu, put them in your cart and check out once. If each one goes to a different address, send Kawika the list, and he'll quote the shipping for each and take care of the rest.
Does it come ready to hang? Canvas comes with a hanger and metal with eyelets, so a nail or two does it. A matted print slides into any standard 11 x 14 frame.
What if it arrives damaged? Send a photo within 7 days and it's replaced free.
Can they exchange it for a different print? Prints are made to order, so sales are final, and you can cancel within 24 hours. Picking a place they know, at the middle size, is the surest way to get it right.
Start with a place they know
Think of the client you'd most like to thank, and the part of Oʻahu they'd recognize. The gift picks show eight prints that make good gifts, each one to scale on a wall.
