Literally meaning "two islands" the Mokulua of the shore of Kailua are iconic silhouettes along the horizon. This image was taken during an overcast morning with crystal clear waters. The natural current of the ocean has shaped the reef and sea floor in such a way that they create lines of motion leading they eye directly out to the offshore islets. I chose to convert this image to black and white because the light and dark tones were so prominent and telling. By removing the color, youʻre able to have a greater appreciate for the texture and motion created by the reef and sand.
