About this photograph
This is easily one of my favorite images I've ever created. Papailoa Beach on the North Shore of Oʻahu has some of the most dynamic scenes. During this particular season, large waves had washed away the sand to reveal a buried reef. The ocean waves cascaded over the sharp edges and gently flowed back and forth. This created a wonderful contrast of sharp rocks and silky water. This echos the proverb that something as fluid as water can overcome the sharpest and immovable rocks.
