About this photograph

This is an aerial image created of Lēʻahi, or "Diamond Head," as it has come to be known. The warm morning glow of sunrise paints the ridges in dramatic fashion, highlighting the depth and shape of Lēʻahi crater. Lēʻahi is an imposing geographic feature that reminds us of the power of mother earth even within the dense, bustling confines of Honolulu City.
