This is easily one of my favorite image I've ever created. Papailoa Beach on the North Shore of Oʻahu has some of the most dynamic scenes. During this particular season, large waves had washed away the sand to reveal a buried reef. The ocean waves cascaded over the sharp edges and gently flowed back and forth. This created a wonderful contrast of sharp rocks and silky water. This echos the proverb that something as fluid as water can overcome the sharpest and immovable rocks.

ʻĀlina
This image was created while on a hike along the Koʻolau Mountain Range. After hiking for hours with my camera gear and drone, I found a launching point in order to gather the 4-6 images which were eventually stitched together to create this image. Over thousands of years the rain and water have carved this incredibly unique and stunning valley with sheer cliffs and deep river beds. Surrounded by lush forest, this is truly a one of a kind scene. Titled ʻĀhina, which means "Scar," this image reminds us that scars can be beautiful.

Hoʻi hou
Created at the most Southern point of the United States, South Point on Hawaiʻi Island plays host to some of the states most dramatic scenes. Using a slower shutter speed, the ocean waves are caption seemingly in motion as they crash up onto the rocks, the receding back into the Pacific.

Kaiwi
This image was created from sticking several photos shot in a grid. This particular bend on Kalanianaole Highway makes for a great point of interest along the scenic Kaiwi Coast, which is widely regarded as one of the most picturesque coastlines in the state. A true Birds Eye view allows the viewer to truly appreciate the rigged and dynamic shoreline.

Hanauma
Stitched together from nearly 20 images, this was created during sunrise over one of Oʻahu’s most frequented attractions. Hanauma bay is one of several marine sanctuaries in Hawaii, but is also a dramatic and stunning bay when viewed in the morning light.

ʻEleu
Created at the popular Sandy Beach during sunrise, this image evokes a sense of excitement and fervor for new day to come. Sandy beach on the South Shore of Oʻahu is known for is powerful shore break and stunning sunrises.

Pūʻao
Using a drone and sticking several exposures together, I created this image a specific section of the Koʻolau Mountain Range on Oʻahu. This specific facade really stood out to me due to its geometrical symmetry combined with the dramatic light from one side. I chose to name this piece Pūʻao, translates to womb. Although typically pointing down, the triangle is often associated as a feminine symbol of strength and fertility. This image of Mother Earth and her fertile body and lush forests show off the miracle that is the female body.

Homecoming
Haleakala, meaning "house of the sun," is located on the island of Maui. Appropriately named "Homecoming," this image was created at the first sign of direct sunlight from the peak of Haleakala during sunrise. Editing choices for this image included heavy contrast and darkening the shadows, drawing the eye to the center of the frame without getting distracted by other details. This image is meant to accent the theme of focus on the coming of light, without letting the dimmer details of life bog you down.

Makapuʻu Beach (vertical)
Created using a drone, this image shows off the white sands and teal blue waters of Makapuʻu beach. Tropical colors along with a Birds Eye view take the viewer away to tropical paradise, away from the stresses of deadlines and afternoon meetings.

Ānuenue
In a stoke of luck, this image was created in the late morning on the north shore of Oʻahu. As the sun rise behind me, a light drizzle stated to fall in the distance revealing a full rainbow. I quickly found an interesting foreground element and photographed this scene. While the image itself obviously arouses feelings of joy, the circumstances of how this was created remind that we can look up and find reasons to be grateful in every moment.

Frosted Tidepool
I created this image on the rock shoreline along the Kaiwi coast. I walked down to the water where I found some tide pools. The slow ripples of the water combined with a very slow shutter created a soft, frosted glass effect on the surface of the tide pool providing a soft and smooth contrast to the rough rocks surrounding the area. Widely regarded as one of most scenic stretches of coastline on Oʻahu, the Kaiwi coast is full of rocky cliffs and dramatic mountainsides.

The significants of this image is such that the location is unimportant. On this particular morning, I was having a difficult time discovering new compositions using the rocks along the beach, which are almost always elements in my seascape photography. After trying out a few shots, I did something that I almost never do. I found a black section of the beach and focused on the texture of the sand itself. I broke away from what I knew and tried some different. I was stunned to find that the patterns and textures created by the waves in the sand were absolute beautiful. My head always told me that there was nothing to be gained from something as uniform and simple as the sand, but if you look close enough, you can always find something interesting.
